How does your riding boots (english) size compare with your shoe size?

I'm going to buy some english riding boots and have no idea what size boot I would be. Please include your shoe size, boot size, and boot brand please. I REALLY appreciate it! :)

i start with my size and go from there, each shoe size is going to be slightly different anyway and fit different depending on who makes it and such.

Same with boots. Start with your regular shoe size and go from there.

as to my boots i usually do end up buying them one size larger, but that's b/c i got flippers for feet(as my ex called them) and it's easier to just go up half a size and fit extra layer of socks on in the winter.

It's the exact same. Boot size and shoe size are the same.

If you are going to be buying tallboots, you will need to measure your calf. Measure both calves though, my right calf is bigger than my left for some reason, apparently it's common in people who use one leg more than the other (for sports like soccer or something)… but I think I use my legs the same!

If you are a woman buying men's boots, subtract 2 from your shoe size to get your size in men's boots.

I use Redwing cause of their quality. I buy mens boots cause they seem to last longer. I wear a size 8 (women) but I buy a 6 1/2 in mens. I need the extra half size for my arch to slip in more easily instead of straining my gut pulling on them. If your arch is higher you might have to go up a whole size. Plus I never buy pointed toes. They only make it worse trying to get them on. Plus they make your feet look HUGE! You'll be wearing spurs so you don't to accidently send your horse the wrong message with a sharp toe in front and a spur in back. Or at least that's what I do. I usually don't use my spurs anyway, I wear them for show purposes only.

I wear 10, to 10 and a half womens in shoes, but my Ariat's are 9 and a half and fit perfectly. (And are the most comfortable shoes ever, I'm very, very happy with them and will be buying from then again)
I couldn't tell you what my usual boot size is, I haven't bought any other boots since I finished growing(At least, I should be done by now, at nineteen…)

Mine is also exactly the same size as my normal shoe. I'm a 10 and my riding boot is a size ten. I think it varies on the brand of boot it is. If you don't understand it, you could ask around or research it.

Ariats boots run very true to size- so get whatever size you normally wear in regular shoes. I've found this to be true with other riding boots as well, unlike cycling shoes where I need a 41 (8 1/2) when I usually take a 9-10!
